ROBERT (BOB) ELLIOTT It is with deep sadness that our family announces the passing of our father and grandfather, Robert on Sunday, September 14, 2003 at the age 71. Bob was predeceased by his wife, Josephine; daughter Sheila Hoye; sister Marion Fogg; and parents, Melvin and Bertha Elliott. Left to mourn his passing are his son Mel (Mary) daughters, Shannon (Craig), Helen; grandchildren, Lindsay, Bree, Bryce, Mia, Wyatt, Lennon; and brother-in-law Russ Fogg and family. Bob was born May 2, 1932 in Winnipeg, MB. He lived his entire life in (sunny) St. James. He started working in his teens at Eatons where he met his future loving wife Jo and together they raised three children, Sheila, Mel and Shannon. In his early 20s, Bob started working for the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission where he remained employed until his retirement in 1992. Bob especially enjoyed playing golf and bowling and even recently received first place in carpet bowling at Golden West. Dear to his heart was the time he spent together with Jo gardening in the backyard, mastering the art of winemaking, taking long walks on "the creek" and enjoying laughs with his family and many close friends. After losing the love of his life, "Jo", Bob deeply mourned her loss and struggled with many health difficulties until the time of his passing. His family is consoled with the thought that they are together once again. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all of the staff and nurses at Golden West Centennial Lodge for their care, kindness and compassion. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Bobs memory to either the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6, or the Parkinson Society of Manitoba, 204-825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 17 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
